Hello all, I'm building a headset setup for a two way radio and I wanted to know if how I would be able to get mono sound from a stereo headset. The headset comes standard with the right left ground cables connected to the plug and I want to splice the left and right channels together so I can use the ring/tip on the plug for the microphone because the radio only takes TRS connections. Would this be possible?

Splicing both stereo channels together will give you phase cancellations, that "underwater effect" that's also used for those fake karaoke machines. It probably would be better you just used one channel of the input signal.
