Some users over at Head-Fi commented the reason why the Monoprice sounds so good is because it has a big 14mm driver although it is unlikely to be refined as more expensive drivers from high end manufacturers. So it would be interesting to find IEMs with big drivers to see how well they fare. One of the biggest cheap IEM I have found is theSony MDR ED12LP with 16mm drivers.

Actually depending on colour they are 6.18 to 8.13 at the moment at Amazon.com. And not all colours are eligible for FREE Super Saving Shipping. But not everyone shops there.

They are $5.99 at amazon.ca. But you don't want to know the shipping charge, more than double the price.

Just got them in the mail. Right away they actually look better in person than they did in the pictures and they feel very solid. They also have pretty good strain relief on the buds and wire. However, they come in no packaging what so ever, just a small plastic bag with a Monoprice sticker on it - to a lot of people this is probably a pro as who wants to pay for packaging .

When it comes to inserting them in your ears, it's pretty hard to figure out and I think I figure it out but not quite sure. It only has one pair of tips. I used a pair of V-moda tips I had laying around instead and they fit their nozzle well. I think the nozzle is about the same size as on the Panasonic HJE-9000 so you should have options if you want to get different tips. I have to play around with them a bit but it seems like they won't be the most comfortable earbuds around with their large and heavy shape and probably not for people with small ears.

Sound quality wise, I just listened to them for like 5 minutes and for $7 very impressive. They don't have the clarity or instrument separation as the Phonak Audeo pfe, but their defiantly not bad in that department. They have a decent sound stage as the sound is just not in your head. It has a base that actually is detailed and just not the phones farting in your head like certain other brands we know (cough, scullkany, monster). The base is a bit stronger then neutral phones but it doesn't muddy up the sound. I would describe the overall characteristic of the sound as relaxed and smooth.

After burn in and when I finish the papers I'm writing for school I'll compare them to the other phones I have, senheisser cx400, Koss Kc750's and of course the pfe's.

Here's another review of them which I think I mostly agree with but, again, after burn -in I'll post how my experience differs with this guy's. You might have to crtl - f " Monoprice 8320" to find it because he reviewed some 200 other headphones in this link.

The JVC Riptidz is now my favorite IEM under $8. Its highs are almost as good as those of the RP-HJE120, but its bass is much better.

I like the design of the JVC better but haven't tried either. Links for the two in usa here: JVC Riptidz or RP-HJE120

Free S&H or it negates the $8 price point.

Just got the Riptidz in and they're surprisingly good for only $8. Wish they had some sub-bass and the mids seem a little too recessed but that's what an EQ is for.

The Riptidz needs burn in. The midrange will improve with burn in. I would describe the bass as being fast rather than deep. After extensive burn in, you will like it better. It doesn't have the bass punch of the Panasonic RP-HJE450 though. That is around $23.

^ yeah they sound really nice after burn-in or as I like to think of it my ears adjusting to the sound. I'm still blown away by how good these sound for $8!! On my iPod Touch using EQu they sound incredibly fantastic, I almost can't believe it. What a steal!!!

Glad you like 'em. I'm pretty much always happy with JVC, but this clinches it. JK98 was on point with these,...

I bought the new Panasonic RP-HJE140. I think I might like this slightly better than the Riptidz as far as sound quality. I prefer the right angle plug and stems on the buds that the Riptidz lacks. The HJE140 is also more efficient than the Riptidz at 107 db/mw vs 101 db/mw. Both are 16 ohms.

JK98, I was serious with my question. I think you're a very good resource with low priced IEMs but I wonder how you like them in comparison to the good stuff. That's the only reason I asked, not to heckle you ...
