Got this from XePort today via e-mail: "Dear XXXX, We can imagine how bad it was if it’s a Christmas gift. Again, we are deeply sorry about this. Is it possible to get the defect unit back from your friend and send back to us? Meanwhile, we would like to send you a new replacement right away, the good part of the replacement is: you can choose any model from our existing products as the replacement for the defect 3010-2. Hopefully it will make you feel a bit better. Once we know your choice, we will send out the replacement as soon as we can. We cannot guarantee the 100% quality of our products as nobody can, but we can guarantee that we will try our best to meet our goal “100% customer satisfaction”. Best Regards, Eric Follow us on Twitter & Facebook http://www.xeport.com/" So, at the very least, XePort has great customer service...

That's what I was thinking, too, TDS. They're sending me 7010-9 (with case) to replace them and have already sent me the USPS tracking number.

I received the 7010-9 day before yesterday. XePort shipped them incredibly quickly. They are going to the person whom I gifted the 3010-2. I have to say XePort behaved admirably in regards to this whole situation...I just hope the other IEMs I purchased from them will stand the test of time!

It's good, but don't expect ear shaking BOOMS! I like how clear it sounds, and I have 'em eq'd right with PowerAMP.

Well my pair of Soundmagic E10's started having problems after one month of usage
Even though I've been babying them, pulling them out of my ears properly by the housing instead of the cord and coiling them with 4 fingers. One phone is weaker than the other now.

TDS, I wish you were able to hear the Able Planet SI550. By far, the strongest bass on any IEMs I have owned. And the mids and highs are smooth and the overall sound is thick and full.

I'm kinda wary of "bass-centric" cans & iem's now, after my experiences with the MeElec M6/M9, and the Velodyne vPulse. I'm just wanting good bass w/balance,...

But actually, the Able Planet SI550 is not bass centric. Bass is its strongest aspect, but it's not at all lacking mids and highs.

The price went up, but not much to $30 at Costco.com. I think they sound almost exactly how the Radius DDM 2 is described. Even if they are not the rebranded DDM 2, they still sound fantastic for the price. To be honest, I have no problem paying $100 for these.

They are hybrid style IEM so they sit on your ears like earbuds. I didn't have any problem with fit and I have small medium to medium size ears. They certainly stay in your ear much more securely than other standard IEMs I have tried.
