Car Media system will not recognise zip with external card

I have a Black 8GB Zip it works fine from both the internal and external memory cards on headphones and picks files of both the external and internal memory. When i connect the player by the USB connector to the cars media system (Honda) it will only work with the external card removed. With the card in the system will not recognise the player at all. I have updated the latest firmware to V18. i have also tried my clip + and its the same no problems with the card out with the card in nothing. The card is a sandisk 8 gb micro sd hc.
I can connect it via the AUX socket with the external card in and it will work but i lose quality and can not control through the steering wheel controls or have the screen display on the media system
Any help or explanations please.

Some stereos have trouble with USB devices that have multiple drives. You can see if theres a firmware update for your stereo. If not, you'll have to stick with the AUX in.

Thanks for the comments, I thought it would be the car system but when i spoke to honda they just looked blank and said nothing . I hoped that someone might of find a way round it on the Zip side. Cheers

That's what it was probably designed for and tested with. On one of the other threads about car head units, there's a video of somebody using a microSD card in a tiny reader.

Thanks for the advice I will try a flash drive which is something had never crossed my mind to do. The funny thing is that there is an SD card slot in the unit but there is no way of accessing it and i can only assume its how they update the sat nav. The Honda dealer has been no use at all. Cheers
