I'm about to buy a 16gb and a 32gb micorsd card for the clip zip (and tablet). Its been awhile since i bought memory, i noticed the price varies a fair bit on the class. I can buy class 2 and 4 16gb cards and even 10 (i think). Is it worth spending the extra cash for a higher class? Will the refresh database be quicker? I already know the refresh database is quiker if tags are done proper, but all things being equal (same songs, same tags) would u expect much difference in refresh between a class 2 16gb and say a class 10?
Does the clip zip struggle with any cards right now? I was gonna buy sandisks ones so kinda took it for granted that they'd be ok (silly bruce tho right?).

The class will make no difference on the database refresh. No reason to buy anything beyond class 4 unless you plan to load the cards with a separate card reader.

Is that a limitation of the clip then rather than the sd card? Can the clip only read it so fast even if the card can be read faster? Or am i confusing class with sum other tech advantage?

With my new class 4 card, it was loading a little bit faster with a USB reader than it was in the clip zip.

I also did some testing with the Clip+ though. There is very little benefit to using a card faster than class 4. Even with class 4 cards though, some were written to at 7+ MB/s in a usb card reader, vs only around 4.5 MB/s for the same card in the Clip+. avoid class 2 cards though, unless you change your files very infrequently, as filling a large class 2 card might take very long. I rarely change the music on my players, but often change the podcasts on them.
