Unhappy Firware upgrade failure

I have a Vision M 30GB (DVP-HD0003).

It crashed and went into Recovery Mode.

I downloaded the latest firmware: ZENVisionM_30GB_PCFW_L21_1_62_02.exe.

I could use Windows Media Player 11 in Win 7 or Vista, but I was able to roll back to WMP10 on a PC running Win XP.

I downloaded ZENVisionM_30GB_PCFW_L21_1_62_02 to the XP PC.
The Zen was attached, in Recovery Mode/Reload Firmware.

When I run the firmware update, it apprears to be working at first... the progress bar gets to the end and then I get the following message:

Current Player Firmware Version: 1.40.02
Upgrade File Version: 1.62.02
Firmware upgrade failed!

Any tips on getting the firmware back onto the device? It is currently unusable.

Thanks.

Do you have a replacement battery in the Zen? I read that with replacement batteries of 1700mh that you can only load the older firmware. try reloading the older firmware from this link:

good luck!
