I'm not a very happy camper with this device and books.
The picture covers are nice but they don't make up for missing chapter info and rewind problems. Can't really tell what chapter I'm in because on the screen it shows 1-19 the parts say in Part 1. All I have to go on is the time left and the time elapsed. Can't seem to get it to rewind by pressing forward or backward; in fact it doesn't really want to rewind at all. It is a real problem for me. Ripped books and Overdrive work OK and that is a plus. But as Audible is my main source guess it is back to Clip+ Donna in AR |

I agree that's the whole reason to read books is that it lets you use your own imagination and voice. Otherwise might as well listen to podcasts or watch movies.

That is not so easy to do while driving.

Listening to books is great when you're walking or on a treadmill. I listen to books on CD whenever I take long car trips by myself. It makes the long drive much more tolerable.

I tend to listen to soft music while driving and read books anytime I have some free time. But anyways, I think you should also post to the Sandisk forums, maybe they'll listen to you.

I have gone through so many Clip+ devices that I should have bought stock in the company. Neighbor, wife, kids, and myself use them for recorded/ripped books from CD. Been doing that for several years now. Rip to mp3, put each disc in a folder, put the folders in a book folder, swing it over to the player. All has been good for over 900 books.
Today, MY clip+ never got past the cute little clover (it is still showing 8 hours later) so I went to fetch me another one. Best Buy in Toledo only has the Clip Zip. Got one of those now. Did the usual stuff to it (set the USB to MSC and loaded a book. Funny things happen now....only reads each track from each folder (Disc 8, Track 1....Disc 7, Track 1, etc.) Not the way the clip+ did it. So, with this new thing.....what do I need to do differently? Should I grab that latest firmware? Mine says 12A and I see 17 is on the board here. Thanks. Mike |

I got it.
I put the books in the Music Folder. All is happy now.....temporarily. Now, and real important to all of us here.....how to lock it while it's playing? Can't seem to find that feature. The Clip+ had a press and hold to disable the buttons while being active. Thank you very much. Mike |

Thanks.
And I apologize for hijacking a thread! I will severely pummel myself with thorn-covered branches while deer hunting this month! Again, sorry and again, thanks. |
