Best TV Recorder??

I am new to this type of technology and am looking for some kind of portable PMP or tablet etc that I can use to hook up to my TV or Virgin Media box and record TV to watch at a later date portably.

My dad had an Archos product 6 or 7 years ago that could do this but looking at their latest tablets, it doesn't appear you can do this.

Can anyone help a newbie??

the archos was the only one I ever knew of to do that and then new ones dont have the feature. most decent tablets or PMPs will play downloaded video or video recorded from a computer based tuner but wont do the actual capture themselves.
