Try Cowboom. Where do you think they got their stock of new looking refurbs?

Sure knew it was coming but, now that it is official, I just have to decide whether to buy each of my 2 kids an HD on Cowboom (to replace their 4GBs) and continue our 2 Zune Passes or just forget it and make the inevitable transition to Apple/Spotify.

You can have up to 3 devices on one Pass, just so you know. You don't have to pay for two.

You do if you have more than 3 devices.
We have 5 devices (two 4GBs for the kids, HD16 for the wife, HD32 for me, Plus an 80GB that isn't used much any more) and 5 computers (3 desktops, a laptop and a netbook) with passes on them.We had 6 devices and 6 computers in use until my oldest joined the Army and got his own Pass a couple of months ago. We are a heavy Zune and Pass using family. Use it as our PMP's, with our Home Stereo (with Dock), with our outdoor sound system, and as car stereos. But I am sure that is coming to an end as the HD has come to an end. Last edited by Stujoe; 10-04-2011 at 09:09 PM. |

Yea, but that just means they told us too soon.

Yea, they realized they still have a lot sitting in warehouses they need to sell. Didn't want to sabotage the 5 units per month they sell.
Even when people though it was alive no-one cared about the product. It's a dead product... dump them off at blowout prices and be done with it already. |

Yeah, likely that they or major sellers have inventory to sell before they want to publish those particular pages to the website.

Understandable. We are probably way out of the norm in our family's Zune/Pass usage. Otherwise, Zune would not be being discontinued. lol

So the Zune team, instead of working on some of the users's issues, (the idiotic way you have to shut the thing down, the inability to see a track's entire title, no alpha selectors in Playlist mode, blah blah blah) is sitting around amusing each other with fake Zune death notices. And we're wondering why it hasn't captured a measurable segment of the market.

As posted many times before, I absolutely LOVE my ZHD, but knowing that microsoft has shown it is abandoning our beloved hardware, I'm probably not going to bother spending the best part of £300 to find a 64gb version. Neither will I want to get rid of it.
I've just had my mobile uprated with the very impressive Xperia Ray which had a very average music player. However, with the addition of the awesome PowerAmp app, its music playing capability has is now marginally better than the ZHD. Shame, really, but a single software writer was able to create this awesome software which includes graphic equaliser par-excellance, playlists on the go, high levels of adjustability, search facility, serious efforts at gapless playback, plus support of mp3, mp4/m4a (including alac), ogg, wma*, flac, wav, ape, wv, tt ...... ....and MS couldn't give us what we constantly cried out for, despite a gorgeous UI and very good sonic ability. Anyhow, just like my beloved laserdisc collection it will not be thrown away and has many more years of use in it, probably by my daughter who has been eyeing the device up since she first saw it!!

Has anyone noticed there is no option to click what disk size you want on their website, when i got mine i clicked on the 16gig version and clicked buy after that, but now there is only one buy button which leads you to walmart which is a 32gig only. Proves it that they are shutting it down slowly

Just incase some of you Zune fans don't visit Amazon, check out their Zune accessories there. Theres a speaker and Tv hookup charger thingy going for only 10 bucks. Almost tempted to buy a Zune just for the cheap accessories that weren't so cheap before.

Don't worry! For those who want a zune, you can get Windows Phone 7 which has zune-like features. It's this year's hardware refresh(even though we have been saying that since last year)! /sarcasm
