hello everyone. i'n kinda new here. hope you can help me out.
i have an original sansa clip with rockbox installed in it. one day it accidentally fell off my hands while jogging and then it turned off, and refused to turn on. only when i plug it to the computer it recognizes it as a storage device (usb mode) and while i charge it through a usb charger it works normally, until i plug it off, then it just turns off immediately. i tried to leave it for a few days until the battery will run empty hoping this would help but it didn't. is there anyone who knows about this kind of problem and how to fix it? i would appreciate it. thanks in advance

Welcome to ABI
![]() I have heard of this a few times and it sounds like the battery has been disconnected. AFAIK the only way to try fix it would require opening it and resoldering the connection if that's the problem. I don't have any detailed directions on how to do that. I've never done it before. There are detailed pictures and a description of how to get it open here. Hope this helps.

How about plain old conductive soldering glue--would that work? (Or is the space too tight?)

You can find a cheap variable temp stahl at parts express here for $15.87. You can even find additional tip kit for $4.95 there.
Edit: almost forgot the silver solder is there too

If you succeed in fixing it yourself, you'll experience a priceless sense of satisfaction.
On the other hand, if you spend a couple hours and $20 worth of tools/supplies and only succeed in completely destroying it, your character will benefit by the suffering you've endured.

Make sure you have a fine tip and practice before you do it, that way it'll come out better. Might also want to watch a soldering tutorial on youtube or similar ...
