Default Scroll Wheel Issue

My Sansa E-280 scroll wheel is extremely sensitive and it makes scrolling through songs or menus a big nuisance.

I saw that it is a common problem with the Sansa E series and that people managed to solve this issue by following the instructions on the following link:

However, the link is not active anymore and I can't find any solution to my problem. Tried using Rockbox but found it didn't solve the problem. Can anyone suggest how to fix it?

open your player.
remove black push-button and white cogwheel. use a small screwdriver to gently remove metal ring (it has small clips holding it in place).
a black ring with contact should have jumped out. if not, remove it.
now clean the contacts on the board and the wheel, and stretch the contacts on the wheel gently. it worked for me.

Thank you for digging that up again. I'm sure that everyone that's able to get their scroll wheel working again will thank you also.
