Great that you find out yourself the solution to your issues

The Lock/Unlock image in sysdata/image/Sysevent is not used in the firmware. You can notice that this pic has a black background while in the firmware, the background is transparent. That means another pic is used but I don't know where it is stored

Actually, many images in sysdata are not used by the firmware. Those are draft pictures used during the product development and for an unknown reason they have not been removed in the final firmware.

Why would you need that?

Source code for R1 is available here http://opensource.samsung.com/ and the recovery tool is also available.

the security mod and the 4.0 firmware are open source? where or from who can i get the code? the linux kernel is the 2.6.24, or is it a modded version?

Nothing more than original Samsung stuff. I create some scripts, that's all
I did not modify the bootloader (MBoot) nor the kernel for R1 (it is also due to the fact that I don't own the device )
You can find these script unpacking the firmware with the samsung tools. You can find a nice package of them in the rockbox source code under /utils/ypr0tools. R0 is pretty the same as R1 internally.

Nope, the ones shipped within the open source package!
But more specifically you need to use tools you can find here:

You can unpack a rom, pack a rom and do whatever you want
Don't be scared from the name ypr0tools, these are also 101% valid for the R1

No idea, I suggest you to use linux (in a virtual machine if you don't need it for other reasons)

Delete_settings

and format didn't work , any suggestion ?

Try simply removing everything from partitions, and DO NOT format it in NTFS, but FAT32 only!!!
If this doesn't help, there may be a more severe memory issue. So in this case where formatting doesn't help, try again to rebot the device several times. Or do a full format (not a quick one).
Again if the issue is still there, try to reinstall the firmware (of course the modded one), and then you may also try the update tool! Do an "erase nand" in this case -> http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=70224

i have a question...do i need to remove the clean_database file from the root after getting it unbricked or it doesnt matter if i leave it there?

As long as there is the _DONE extension you can leave it where it is (it should be in the DRK folder though, not at the root)
