as you suggest, i'll put that on my top to-do list
so I just have to put it on the root folder, correct? I have ever updated my previous Q2 firmware, I guess it will be the same also with this modded firmware..

yes, it is a second handed one Lebellium, can't afford to buy the BNIB one
in my country, samsung DAP is wellknown as it offers good quality sound and affordable price. To cut the price even lower, there are the "loosepack" version of certain models, i wonder if samsung officially release the loosepack ones?

yep, i've read it..
i'm indonesian, that's why my english is far below perfect, pardon me for that

loosepack is a very minimum package of something, if you buy DAP for example, you will only get the unit, an earphone, and a data cable with no box, no manual, nor warranty card. it's on plastic pack, so it's loosepack

maybe it's refurbished, or didn't pass the QC but "leaked" out to the public, oops, OOT

btw, there is a local antivirus which known to have an issue with R1 DAP. This antivirus scans any removable disk drive and (in some cases) bricked the R1. I'm a user of this antivirus also, and have no problem with my previous Q2.
Is it possible for the firmware to be deleted/modified by an antivirus?
fyi, the antivirus is not a spam, it's quite famous and had been recieving many positive reviews and awards.

No it's not possible for the Antivirus to delete or modify the firmware. With modded fw 4.00 you're in security. Maybe it just adds some hidden trash files that brick the device.
But any good Antivirus has a setting to disable the automatic scan of removable drives

yes indeed, there's similar problem and it's solved already in this very forum (links here) ! how can u know that? it's true, the antivirus adds trash files

No you can't

Actually yes you could update the Linux Kernel but that requires some knowledges and that would cause some instabilities (Lorenzo tried on the R0). Why do you want to do that?

When disconnect the cable after R1 entered into the safe mode, it can not power off automatically. I must press the reset button to power it off. Can the next MOD Firmware fix the problem? Thank you.

I don't have an R1, thus I cannot work on it as it's supposed to be done when working on mods

successfully upgrade to FW 4.00, and i'm very happy for that

just found out a bug ( i guess this also occurs in FW 3.07 since 4.00 is based on 3.07), i read it somewhere in the past but forget where was it exactly

The bug is "out of memory" notification. I downloaded some UCIs from official uci website (and also the ones mirrorred by Lebellium), then tried them all with success. but after i opened a flash games (also downloaded from samsung uci website), I wasn't able to change the UCI anymore, the device refuses even to preview the UCI from theme menu. it reverted back to standard UCI while showing "out of memory".

the problem resolved when i press reset button. my guessing is that the device "hold" severeal amounts of ram and couldn't "release" it even though we have closed the application used previously. something like running in the background stuff..

apart from that, i found it's stable FW

Hey glad to hear you successfully installed fw 4.00

The "out of memory" issue is not specific to the fw 4.00 but may occur with any firmware. I reported a similar issue a long long time ago, I don't remember exactly what was the reply from the R&D but I remember for some reason they couldn't fix that. It's an hardware limitation if I remember well.
