Angry XB41EX IEM's for Sub Bass with NWZA844

I am going to purchase new IEM's

Currently im using stock MDR NC-33 IEM's that came with my NWZ A844

I was initially going to buy Hippo Vb but they are not available here so i ill just get them later. For now im considering XB41ex cause i can get these from my local store. Xtra bass series seems to sound promising, but i dont know how much.

Sony XB41EX
  • Type Dynamic, Closed
  • Driver Unit 13.5mm, Dome type (CCAW)
  • Impedance 16ohms at 1kHz
  • Frequency Response 4-24,000Hz

My stock MDR NC-33 IEM specs :
  • Driver Unit : 13.5 mm Dynamic, closed, dome-type
  • Frequency Response : 10Hz -22,000Hz
  • Impedance : 16 ohms at 1kHz (Power ON or OFF)

I read some reviews on xb's, say they have very nice bass response. But they did say these have bass response more towards Upper range, Sub bass is also present but its rather hard to distinguish from the ever-present blanket of mid/upper-bass.

Alright now, MDR NC33 specs are almost the same compared to XB41EX, im wondering if purchasing XB's will make any difference. Now im in a dilemma.

  1. Are XB's different from MDR NC33 , they do have the same driver size 13.5 mm ?
  2. If they are different in performance then its nice cuz i will see some improvement, now comes the point if XB's have enough Sub Bass or not ?
  3. And lets say both these IEM's perform the same why am i not getting that Sub Bass ? Is NWZA844 even capable enough ?
  4. Back to Square one, What can i do to get that Sub Bass
