JTS HP-525 vs. Sennheiser HD25-1

Does anybody have any personal experiences with JTS HP-525 headphones? (and I do mean listening them :P ) AFAIK they have exactly the same drivers as in Sennheiser's HD25-1, but their construction is different - bass-reflex semi-closed cans. And they cost about 1/4 of Senn's price. There's not much about them on forums to be found, anyway.

Interesting! The first time I have heard of the JTS JP-525. I have already bought the HD 25, but it is interesting that headphones that cost one third of the price might sound almost the same as the HD 25...

I call BS (on the part of the manufacturer), especially since there's no way they would be so darn cheap if they contain the real sennheiser drivers.

Why not? I suppose you know about Creative Aurvana Live! and Denon AH-D1001 - they both have the very same drivers made by Foster. CAL!s can be get for $60, Denons for $200.

Well, I have heard of both - but I'd personally like PROOF that they contain the same stuff - just like w/the above cans having been "PROVEN!!!" to be authentic.

Like I said, I'd like stats or it's worthless speculation.

Speculation? It is (that's why I started this thread ), but worthless? It's worth $200. :P

It's not so uncommon situation with many audio (and other, too) devices - headphones, speaker boxes, amplifiers, etc. You can find the same speaker models (made by Vifa, Peerless, Scanspeak, etc.) in many different boxes in a wide price range. The same ICs are being used in different amplifiers, CDs or DACs and their prices can also vary widely. I'm talking about the same parts in different products. But there are so many other factors that influence the end price of a product. And I'm feeling that I'm stating the obvious, so I shut myself up.
