What's discomforting/doesn't matter is about 35& of the world are audiophile's/cares about sound and the other percent is not. Period. Honestly unless this causes all HTC products to increase in price to accommodate the Beats headphones then it not really gonna change my view of their products.

They make good phones, if they want to buy themselves into one of the largest marketing successes of recent that's their choice.

Just put a custom eq in the damn things and all problems are solved. Having someone else decide how my music should sound reeks of being a REAL sheep. Please, doc see deciding what my music should sound like? Custom eq or GTFOH!

Yeah but you can still put PowerAmp onto any HTC device, even the Beats powered ones. Its the first thing I introduced my friend to when he got his. Its just a custom tailored 'sound experience' and a lot of people will rather pay for that over browsing forums like we do to learn this stuff ourselves :P

I'm referring to the stock, onboard, built-in settings. I also have powerAMP on my atrix 4g, it's all I use. I would love to be able to not HAVE to instal it,...wouldn't you?

I never understood the whole Dr.Dre craze though. I mean I graduated from high school in 2010 and during the time I was there,I wasn't even aware of the headphones and such or even the Beats brand at all lol then its like after that year it seems popular,I just don't understand how it became popular at all.

It was used in some music channels (like MTV ) but I don’t understand so many brands have been advertised like Mercedes & Nokia none have such huge success in this type of marketing.
