Default 3DS - Price Cut from $250 to $170

Yep, the 3DS just cut its price by about 30%.

To make up for those that bought one early, Nintendo is going to give away ten NES games and 10 GBA games to any system that accesses the e-Shop service before August 11th of this year. That's 20 free retro games, which (with Nintendo's rather disappointing pricing on VC titles) is about the difference from the old and new prices.

So, get one now at $250 and get about $70 worth of free downloadable games, or wait until after August 12th and get a 3DS for a ot less, but with no free software.

For that price I might actually buy one. $200+ for a portable is just too much.

Then you won't like the price for the PSP successor, the PS Vita. $250 for Wifi model, $300 for 3G model.

Wow, I might have to get one then, or just wait until after Xmas, it'll probably be even cheaper then.

Unlikely. This is already an $80 price cut, only a few months after it came out.

I wouldn't be surprised if it drops a little more. I don't think the 3DS has been doing all that well. Anyone I know who has a DSi or even a DS already is skipping the 3DS.

I already have a DS Lite and tons of games for it which I never finished at all,so it will be a VERY long time before I ever buy the 3DS,not until I finished all these games, which will be a few more years however the PSP Vita prices are actually fair, look back at the older PSP versions, they all started at $250,so this is common and fair.

Yea the PSVita is looking pretty good too. Im more of a nintendo guy, so I think i'll be getting the 3DS over it, but I think it will probably do better in the long run. It's truly a next gen handheld, whereas the 3DS is more of a last gen with a new gimmick, even if I do like it. TBH the most appealing thing about the 3DS is the remakes of old games, and 1st party games. On the other hand, the PSVita will get a ton of great 3rd party games.

In my opinion, if one of the most appealing things about the 3DS are the remakes, it's doomed. And just to be a complete hypocrite, Cave Story 3D looks cool. :P
I have a DSi right now, so I don't really feel the need for a 3DS. Needs more games- and while 1st party games are nice, it'd be awesome if it got the same amount of 3rd party support the DS got. Oh, and the battery life.

Yea the battery life is fairly awful, but I don't think I could stand playing it more than a few hours anyways.

Bestbuy will price match for 45 days on reward zone silver members and I had a $50 e coupon that expires this week. Not only will I gets me the price break since it happen this month, but also the free 20 downloadable games.

Well my 2 3ds systems came, and actually oot 3d is flipping amazing to say the least. The ost is cleaner the sounds cleaner and better textures. Also the characters are much higher polygon count. I had trouble seeing the 3d effect in bright room or in stores but at home in my normal lighting it is great. In oot 3d the effect is actually really nifty in other things it sucks so far. Going to go pickup some more game for myself and flatmate soon.

The console is well made , no dead pixels or issues, though it is a dust magnet. Came with some augmented reality cards, which actually works really well.

This is what the ar cards look through the camera , the cameras suck but the movement is pretty smooth , and link !
