My Cowon S9 refuses to upgrade

I have problems getting my Cowon S9 to upgrade the firmware. I have downloaded (tried both with 2.52 and 2.53) extracted the 3 files and put them in the root of the device. I disconnect and start it but it just starts normal without upgrading.
The latest version I’ve installed is 2.41. Anyone got any clue?

That's happened a couple times when I didnt place the files in their correct location.

Double check that you put it in the right place.

It’s the right directory, it’s the root, I can’t go any higher and I see the same files and folders as in the image in Cowons instructions… Should I try to place them in the system folder instead?

And how is it posible that the device says that I've got firmware version 4.30 when the latest version is 2.53?
