Default Sansa Clip+ and Samsung Travel Adapter?

Hey everyone, this is probably a stupid question, but I didn't want to risk my Clip+'s battery.

So, I have this old Samsung travel adapter that I received with my camera, and I was wondering if it would be safe to use with my Clip+. The output on the adapter 4.2v, 400 mA.

Will this be safe?

Thanks

No.
You're looking for one that reads 5v, no more or less. I have had various ones from 550mA to 1000mA that work just fine.....but the 5v is crucial.

Ah, darn... Even if it charges, it's still dangerous, right?
Do local retailers sell travel adapters?

Thanks again

Yep--are available all over, at electronics stores, big box stores, etc. Just be careful as to cost: these things are inexpensive (available on-line for $5-10 or less) but often at big box stores, etc. at much more.

You want 5V and around 500 mA or more (more is fine--the Clip will simply take what it needs, with the amps (but not the voltage--you need 5V, no more)).

Thank you so much!
I need it by this weekend, so I guess I'll stop by London Drugs or something :/
Any notable - inexpensive - online retailers for future reference?

sampark:

It's always a good idea to give some location info when requesting info about local retailers. London Drugs says Western Canada (probably Alberta or BC) to me.

I have seen some nice looking chargers at Staples Canada and Wal-Mart Canada in the past. Currently using a Creative charger that I got for $1 in a store closing clearance at a Wal-Mart. Obviously Future Shop and Best Buy should also have them.

Of the "major" stores with nice pricing, Wal-Mart is a good source.

Online, meritline.com is a nice source (I purchased some small Apple USB AC chargers there for $2, regularly $30 in the Apple store (yes, $30--but hey, you got a lucite box as part of that ...). But they're all over the place: Amazon, focalprice.com, monoprice.com, eBay (but no ratings as to the product quality there--that can be an issue, and so I like seeking the ratings), etc.

Cheers, everyone.
