Thanks for moving the thread to sticky status, however, I still didn't get a reply to my request from supercurio on twitter. I don't know how to reach him in any other way, so support for the 4.0 and 5.0 remains out of reach... That's really a shame, as they are both dedicated media devices! Using PlayerPro at the moment, the sound is maybe a tad better then with the stock player. I'm using a custom eq setting, and Playerpro shows the hierarchical folder structure whih I'm used to from my old archos.

Just a question, how do you adjust playback speed ?
Can't see anything in the "more" music settings like the manual says it is in.

Is it just me or is this an ass-backwards way of approaching features and upgrades? Since when does upgrading mean you LOSE functionality!?

Maybe removing the features will encourage the market to fill the gap with something even better than Google would supply.

Ok, good idea! let us all know if you get an answer from him. At the moment he seems to dedicate his time only to samsung's newer phones. Hopefully the players will get more popular and maybe then he'll make it available for us...

He didn't answer the question but he answered another question I posted days ago about another matter just minutes after, so he doesn't wanna answer THAT question. It could be a bad sign
![]() My doubt it, do we really need it? what if samsung already put better audio drivers in it? |

Thanks for trying! Obviously it's as you say, he doesn't want to answer the question. This could mean either he doesn't know at the moment if he's got the time to do it or maybe he isn't interested in the players at all. I incline to think that he is undecided at the time but he doesn't rule it out either. Otherwise he would have just said plainly "no support for 4.0 or 5.0" and it would have been clear. So we can just sit and wait.
I guess we could use the driver, as it brings some useful settings to the supported devices, like better preamp, anti-jitter and dac direct output. All those settings should improve sound, at least thats what I've read so far. On the other hand, I have no experience rooting gingerbread. Froyo was easy, 2.3 is more complicated. Let's hope supercurio or some dev will tend to our players... |

Do you guys notice after updating to gingerbread the sound became much louder for the native music player? because my PlayerPro w/ DSP Pack is much louder before but now the native is. Thank you guys

I have the 4.0 and I notice a slight hissing/static sound coming from my headphones while the music player is idling and I'm using the device's browser or doing other things where there's no sound. Does anyone also notice a slight hissing sound?

I don't have any of these players, only a SGS2 phone. I was looking for a way to get lyrics display, since the stock player doesn't display lyrics as well as other features like gapless etc. Yesterday, I downloaded and installed the free version of PowerAMP, and to my pleasant surprise, it did display lyrics I created myself, but I forgot the tool I used-whether it was LDB Manager or Lyrics Station
, but of course it couldn't display the lyrics for another file I had which the P3 and Cowon D2 displayed in Karaoke style. Don't know if there's any standardization when it comes to lyrics in the music world!Could not test gapless as I do not have any gapless samples to play with, but overall, the SQ seemed to be much better than the stock player on the phone. I am informed that the DAC on this phone has been downgraded from SGS1. Can lebellium or anyone here confirm it? To what extent can SQ be improved by an app? I suppose it cannot beyond the limits imposed by the hardware. On a side note, I was disappointed that all those .tts and .svi files I had on the P3 refused to play on the phone. Maybe I'll have to search for another app for this (just as for mundane tasks like phone call recording and FM radio recording. And they call these smartphones )....Welcome to the world of apps!

No hissing sound here, and I'm very picky about that sort of thing.

Yes! It really bothers me when listening to music at night with the volume only two notches up. I googled it and it seems to be a common problem with android devices.

The sound quality is nice on my SGP 4.0,it is better than my Sansa Fuze when using the Power Amp player, but when playing songs with a lot of lows or bass I am hearing some sort of distortion, even with no EQ.
I use Sony MDR EX 36V's as well as JVC HARX700's. Does the Galaxy player require headphones with a certain impedance rating? |

I love my SGP 5.0, for everything but... listening to music. I thought i could let down my Cowon S9 and i was so wrong.
If i use my cheap intra Meelectronics M11+ I could think that SGP is good but when i use my sennheiser HD558, there is a world between my s9 and this sgp, I have used Winamp pro and it's even worse than the DB POWER AMP (which is not so bad after all). I always hear some kind of distorsion. Samsung should buy COWON and put their technology in their sgp

I think not. My SGP 5 is Android and the sound is perfect. I use Philips She 9000. Rom Froyo.
