Hello all!
I now need to go purchase a new set of headphones, I previously had the Shure SE115 set, before that the Monster Turbines and before that the Bose inear sets. As you can see I dont like the crappy sets (but not the super expensive stuff :P ) I enjoy lots of bass and great highs, seeing as I primarily listen to Dance, Techno, Pop, Euro, and the occasional Jazz and Rock. I have found a few that I could possibly go for, and was wondering if you all had some opinions on these or any others: Sony MDRXB40EX Klipsch S4i or S5i Etymotic Mc3 My price range is 80 - 130 $ And im in Canada so there, please help me out ![]() Thanks |

Also note, I love great sound quality, that is my thing. I currently use a Cowon J3 with my own user EQ and SQ is very important for me. And noise canceling or isolation please

CNET.com recommends the Klipsch highly. Coming from Shure IEMs, I found the Klipsch tips rough on my ear canals--but likely, one could switch to other tips.

The klipsch are pretty good. a bit of a flimsy cable, but not terrible. Some say they are siblant but I dint mind. I enjoy mine on occasion. very reliant on a good fit though. In that same range I would look at the Hippo VBs and the Fischer Audio Eterna...I have both and really enjoy them both.

I have not heard the Sony or MC3, but I do not think you would be happy with either of those. The Sony would probably be a downgrade in sound quality and the MC3 would not give you the sound you want as it is a little dry in the bass and treble from what I have read.
Honestly, I found the Klipsch a little disappointing. They are not bad--and would sound great coming from cheap earphones--but compared to other earphones of the same price they are just not that impressive. So your best bet is to look at the earphones IDvsEGO suggested. But of the three you listed the Klipsch would probably be the best choice.

Hippo VB, like IDvsEGO said, sound like what you should be looking at. Best bass in town, and Jaben apparently just got more stock. 79 smackaroos.

I would personnally not like to order them online because that costs a premium to Canada and also it takes for ever! So that may limit me.
The hippos are to much of a hastle for me to get, so what other comparable phones would you all reccomend? |

in my experience, shure wont give you a good bass experience. from a big box store, the 24 is your best bet. as for not ordering online...I have no idea what your canadian stores carry but if you continue listing options we can offer input.
I will say I have been curious about some etys but never tried one. |

The shures I had were pretty solid for the bass. Then again the J3 with my custom settings helped
I know there is better out there, I looked online at a few phones, sadly most of the ones you have reccomended dont ship to Canada. ![]() What do you know of Sony phones? And also would a Noise Canceling option be a good idea? Or should I stick to isolation. |

I dont like the concept of noise cancelling. I prefer old fashioned isolation. the J3 def helps bring phones to life. I was about to return my Senn hd428s before I got the J3. now they are my favorites. i dont know anythign about the sony's or the D-Jays first hand.

Also lots of bass check out DFKT, new review on the second revision Radius.
A better fit for those pair of IEMS has long been suggested. The new pair should be nice.

I generally like Audio Technica. Like is not really strong enough...one of my favorite brands of cans. Never tried their IEM offerings though. Sennheiser is pretty good, but again, I have no experience with their IEMs. The only ones that have drawn my interest are out of your price range...IE6 or IE8.

I don't know about their IEMs, but I have their flagship circumaural cans. They are fairly fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised if their IEMs are as good.
