Unhappy Dave: Warranty Question

When I plugged in my Zune HD today to charge, it simply would not do so. I tried another cable and still had no luck. I bought the Zune on the day it came out here in the US, September 15, 2009. Am I still covered by warranty?

No your warranty is over, warranty on most PMP's and DAP's in the US are 1 year max, including the zune.

Yea, only one year warranty. You can get it repaired, I believe, if you want to go that route. (All of your questions can be answered on the Zune support site or by calling them)

MS warrants their products for 1 year, as everyone has mentioned. I've had my oldest son send in quite a few xbox 360's and have them repaired for free - all were in the 1 year warranty period.

If it was the RRoD, they extended the warranty period on that, fyi. Three years, I believe.

rapidrepair.com is a trustworthy repair shop.

Have you tried leaving it plugged in for an hour at least? What about connecting to a different computer?

I've tried two different cables in both a wall adapter that I know for a fact works and in two different computers in several USB ports in each. Also, it wasn't dead. It has about half battery left.

I will check that site out. Thanks.

FWIW, I would try leaving it plugged in for 24 hours or so... and then (while still plugged in), pressing the power button up top and holding it for up to 60secs. If that doesn't do anything, I would guess it is something more serious than just a dead/unchargeable battery...

But ya - try that first, then call the support folks and see what they say.

Cheers, Dave.
