Hey guys.
I have a question to ask. Recently my J3 has been kinda slow transfer-wise while connected to my PC via USB. I feel I need to format it, maybe not, whatever. The thing is, I read here - http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/sho...03&postcount=2 - that one can simply format INTERNAL memory of the device and I guyess the factory ROM firmware will be installed during a boot. Anyway, before I use the utility to format both the internal and sd memory, I would like to get some confirmation, that this will actually not bust my device. I prefer to be careful ![]() So, anyone here done it so far? Cheers, gzx

You can use that SD Formatter program to format either internal or external storage selectively. It simply erases the target drive completely. I certainly suggest you format BOTH internal and external storage. At the next re-boot, the firmware will recreate the default folder/file structure that is assumed to exist by the rest of the Cowon software (i.e. the apps in the firmware). There will be no factory-loaded sample files, demo music/videos, etc., but the required folder structure will be rebuilt from scratch and then you're ready to "start over" loading music, videos, etc., onto the J3. You're safe to follow this procedure. No harm will come to the J3. |
