Default Portal 2

Out now.

Acclaimed as the best game of the year before it was released. I just completed a few levels, and it's up to the hype. Perfect gameplay, great plot, excellent music, great graphics. Get it.

I used to really like first person shooters, but over the years , I played so many games in that genre that shooting and killing is getting tiresome. I play less and less because really good games are getting scarce these days.

Portal and Portal 2 is like fresh air in the stale gaming market.

Love the original, but I'm going to wait on this one- until a sale. I simply don't have 50 bucks to spend right now. :P
So I'll just wait for a 50% off sale on Steam.

If you haven't tried it already, Narbacular Drop. It's pretty much the game that inspired the first Portal game.
Funnily enough I encounted this game during my college days before Portal even came out.

I've played for an hour so far, it's up to my expectations coming from Portal, except that I can't change my fov to a higher value (playing on PC), minimum is 75, max is 90, 90 is the default, and for me it's too narrow, also it shows this on PC:

Console, heh. Another port, but I guess since it's Portal we're talking about it's fine, imo. Perhaps a future patch will resolve those 2 things.

Hmm, I'm coming closer to the end and I've lost my motivation to keep playing, tbh it doesn't attract me as the first game did. The first hours were fun, but after that it just dies for me. And lacking of motivation on this game is quite troublesome if you still want to finish it, like I do, since you have to solve some puzzles, not being motivated makes things 200% harder.

I'll try playing it again later/tomorrow, hopefully my thoughts on the game will be positive in the end.

How long is the game? The first was great but it wasn't long enough to be a full game I think, I just got it with the Orange Box.

SP only (no co-op) and 2 different sources, from 6 to 8 hours.

PS3 and PC version are both co op with either the PC and PS3 versions. The 360 version only allows play with xbox 360 and live members.

I finished now the SP, I loved the ending just like the first game; and changed my opinion above about the game, even though there's that little part that bores me a bit, but it lives to the expectations, I couldn't recommend it more.

Played through the SP, working on the Co-op with a friend now. The beginning is hilarious, but the humor gets a little redundant after you get the
potato GLaDOS
Still funny as hell though.

I was kind of irked that all the puzzles had big honking PUT A PORTAL HERE hints all over them, and it made some of them too easy.

Overall a worthwhile purchase, but I would wait for the price to drop.

Started playing it today, I'm in chapter 3 at the moment. Damn, the dialogue is even more quote-worthy than the first Portal game. "You might have a very slight case of severe head damage." Pretty awesome they got Stephen Merchant for the voice of the bot on the rail as well. I absolutely love it so far, even if it's easier than I remember the first one to be... but I guess that could change still.

I've installed the first update patch, and that is fixed.

FOV is fine for me, on 1920x1200 16:10.

It will, imo.

And glad to know that the patch fixed that little thing. As for the FOV, I guess I'm just used to a wider view from other games (where I can change it to my likes). But tbh it's not something that bothered me as much as I thought it would when playing.

Had to change my user title. The humor in this game is basically the best yet, surpassing even most Lucasarts adventure games.

Now you're thinking with lemmings, Lestatar. More on topic, you might enjoy that one if the new games confuse you: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...h-a-Portal-Gun

Also, spoiler:

For anyone who hasn't done so yet, the "Aperture Investment Opportunity" teasers/trailers are a must-see.
