Default reliability?

I've been looking for a used one for a while and have recently found a 32gb on Craigslist for $100. Should I jump on this deal? It appears to be in really good shape. Are there any reliability issues with it?

Unless they have absolutely abused the player, I'd say it would be fine. As the Zune HD is a very sturdy player, I'd be surprised if there was anything majorly wrong with it. If you can see from pictures of the device it is free from nasty scratches and dints, then I'd say go for it.

Does the person selling it live in your city? If theyre close, just go look at it and check the functioning. I have not heard of any common reliability problems at all, and obviously haven't experienced any myself. Good luck!

Always be wary of used devices. Especially those that aren't being sold by a company.

I bought mine used off of eBay.
So far it has been more reliable than the last two iPods I bought.

Yea, most people aren't out to jip you, I'm just sayin', you don't wanna blow 100 bucks on something that has diminished battery life or something and the warranty is void.

Just try your best to make sure you're not getting ripped off. After all, it's Craigslist.

Otherwise, Zune HDs are very reliable. Mine kept resetting about once a day during the first week or two of getting it, but then it immediately became the most reliable mp3 player I've ever owned and since then, I've had to reset it once. As for sturdiness, it's also very sturdy. Scratch-wise, it doesn't scratch easily. I have one small scratch on the screen.

Never heard of this happening before but my friend bought a ZuneHD from walmart and his screen uas like a red tint to it compared to mine but it might be mine, although I like the way mine looks better :P . And a quite a few times a day and the bar that says "slide down to power off" appears out of nowhere. This usually happens when he is using apps I think but I'm not sure. So I would check it out because anything can happen.

Actually, that red tint has been brought up before. I don't think that there's been any confirmed cause of it, and I'm not sure it's from misuse...

Is that just differences between screens? Mine has a bit of a pinkish tint to it compared to my sister's, but it's nothing major.

I'm not sure. I don't think there was ever a confirmed cause...
