My point is this:

If the choice is between:

A) One software / any computer (Zune)

B) Any software / one computer (iPhone)

I choose A every time, especially if the software works well which the Zune software does, IMO.

You can't just stick to MM if you want to update your apps/contacts and such with iTunes.

Marvin: you can sync a Touch w/ multiple computers, not an iPhone.

Having said all that: I hereby confess that I love my iPhone 4. A lot. Even if it is more "locked down" than my Zune, IMO.

I don't need to sync my iPhone w/any other comp - but I did do it with my touch when I had it. My point: The Zune software is all you can use w/a Zune, but I can use almost ANY SOFTWARE w/a touch, or my CLASSIC. And, I've always hated the Zune PC client - so I guess were even.

I see Marv got the point, but your nitpicking and grasping @straws in defense of the Zune,...so be it.

I miss the Z:HD myself, and I wanted it do what we all EXPECTED it to do - no dice!!! Plus I'm not an Apple fanboi, but I am a realist. But, I'm gonna go w/a WP7 device soon - I expect big things to come this way.

Besides the lack of codec support, I don't see what's wrong with the Zune software. I rather like the interface, and it works perfectly fine for me, with no lag or anything like that. It also helps me a lot with awesome integration with my Xbox, other computers, and my HD. Better than iTunes, at least, IMO.

As far as the lack of codecs goes, I only really wish that Zune supported matroska video. So I have VLC for that.

And that stuff about iTunes deleting whatever you add with MM sounds like a HUGE pain in the ass.

I do agree with you about Zune on phones. IMO, all they really need is a hardware update. A good one. Not just 128MB RAM, get a competitive screen size, get a speaker. I plan on getting a WP7 when US Cellular receives their first one sometime this summer. Can't wait!

The UI/experience is just to die for.

If that could be brought to a tablet I'd buy It.

As far as their software I hate it.

Windows 8 will have an alternative UI which is touch-centric with Metro styling.

Although from what I hear, this is just speculation.

But I want it to be true too - it will hopefully make Splashtop even easier to use!

Well, I figure if I pair it w/the bass boosting little amp dfkt recommended I'll have a nice little setup. All I wanted is my bass coupled w/adequate volume, and now I'ma gonna have it. Besides, I want a frigging radio - I like listening to new stuff that way. And, for the record, Sony can still KMA!!!

Zune Tablet. Isn't that essentially what you have when your Zune HD is hooked up to an HDTV? Yes, I know a tablet would be smaller, and the input would be right on the screen. Still, does anyone like the TV view of the HD enough to want to carry it around on a 10" tablet?
