Default Concept MP3 player uses a familiar interface

Thought the last pic was rather interesting as it bears a striking resemblance to the zune hd's interface.

http://www.tomsguide.com/us/mp4-play...ews-10746.html

And correct me if I'm wrong but it even looks like the same album covers as various marketing pics of the HD?

Perhaps the next Zune

Eck, I would not want that.

The guy who did the concept just cut that out of a Zune Software screencap.

It's an odd design. Certainly doesnt look confortable to keep in your pocket.

I guess you could always use it as a weapon is someone tried to steal it.

Interesting though how the futuristic design (at least from the UI standpoint) takes directly from the HD.

Having someone copy the interface says something about Zunes.

Also, if you read on . . . Gorilla Glass? AMOLED? I don't think the "interface" is the only thing they got ideas for.

As for the player concept design . . . No. Just no. It looks uncomfortable to hold. There's nowhere to hold it with your left hand without pressing on the screen or those big buttons at the bottom. It's just illogical.

like Blackthorne said, it would be very uncomfortable to have that edged piece of glass in your pocket. The earphones don't look very functional either...

It looks like somebody just took some stuff blended it, and made it transparent.

Interesting "concept"....but functionality looks nil.

I've seen prototype "roll and go" TVs and PC Monitors that are done on flexible plastic films and as thick as a CD. Some kind of organic LED or something (I can't remember). My guess is someone saw the same TV show I did and did a mock up of a MP3 player using their Zune or Win7Phone as a basis. I'll bet that GPX or some brand like that will release something like this for the "wow factor" and it will be a piece of junk.

I had a fake Sony Walkman when I was a kid (yeah, I'm pushing 40) with an Audio Level Meter thing on it...just a series of red lcd blocks to show...ummmm...something. Not sure what one single bar showed, but it looked cool. The walkman SUCKED, but I sure had everybody checking it out. Didn't work for squat, but I was the coolest 5th grader for having it!

If they stuck razor blades on it, they could make it look even more user unfriendly.

Yup, form over function. It's right up their alley.

We all love taking digs at Apple, but I can't see even them picking up this design...

I mean, giant frosted glass buttons? Gimme a break!

You know that no matter WHAT the topic of the thread some use it as a reason to take another swipe at an Apple product.

Ok, maybe it was a little hyperbolic, but you know, I could see them touting this sort of transparent screen thingy as "the future" or something like that. I really wouldn't put it past them, and I'm sure that they'd make a boat load off of people who thought it looked cool and futuristic.

Apple's solution will be the glass but nothing else. You KNOW they have working prototypes already.
