Hi,
Trying to effect an mp3 solution in a 2004 Rav 4 with a Toyota 58812 stereo. I must keep the original head unit as it displays the mpg and outside temp. So far I have tried a "connect2" adapter with a creative plugged into the line in - Complete waste of time, the volume kept fading away even after I replaced the unit. So now I am looking at an xcar link, just plug in a memory stick and control everything from the steering wheel ![]() great in theory but has anyone tried this? http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.ph...&cat=11&page=1 |

Yes it works nicely - slight limitation is that you need to create 6 predefined folders on your memory stick cd01, cd02 etc. These six folders replicate 6 CDs in an autochanger. As far as your head unit is concerned it has an autochanger plugged in and all the controls work accordingly.
It's not perfect but it is good and I don't think you can do any better without a new head unit. |
