i want a dock that CHARGES orher mp3 players

i want a station dock that will actually CHARGE other mp3/4 players OTHER THAN the stinking ipod or iphone. in other words i don't want to have to plug another cable in the back of the dock to play my other than ipod/iphone. i don't want to have to plug it into my computer or the wall outlet to charge it.

i am thinking about getting a cowon j3, is there a dock that will charge it w/o having to plug that extra cord in the back? i don't want to have to plug it into my computer or the wall outlet to charge it.

i really want the dock to be portable and have alarm clock.

There is no such thing because each player's port pinouts have different voltage specifications.

so the cord will make it so i can charge my (lets say, Cowon J3) on a ipod dock with out other cables?

I don't think so. AFAIK, cowon devices when connected via usb for charging cannot be used to play media at the same time

All Cowons can be used for playback while connected to USB chargers. With the J3 for example you just have to press the play/pause button to go from the battery charging screen to its regular interface.

Oh my bad, will try it on my D2+ also

IIRC, on the D2 you have to press the "M" key while it's connected to a dedicated USB charger.
