Default iBasso D6 USB DAC/Amp "Fer-de-Lance"

Worth buying ? ...

I like the fact I can use it as a portable amp and I can use it with my laptop.

Right now I would be either using it with a pair of Yuin PK2s ( so far so good) and my Cowon J3 or the Laptop. People seem to really like it when they upgrade it to the Topflight kit.

Problem is their seem to be so many portable amps in the $250-300 range it's really hard to know what one to buy considering if you read over on head-fi.org in the amp forum in one way or the other, nearly everyone likes what they bought.

If you ask what's important to me when it comes to a AMP,

Portability ( Slim - smaller the better)
Sound ( Better then what I am hearing now) Better clarity, more bass, crisp sound etc..
Functionality and support
Budget $250-$300

The intention would be after purchasing the AMP getting either a Pair of Yuin PK1s or something similar that require a AMP to drive them.

My gut feeling tells me I won't be disappointed, but want to make sure I have looked at all my options before buying it.

What do you think .....

Not since the D12 has been out no. For $10 more you get a better amp section, you can roll the op amps and you gain a coax/optical spdif input.

Plus the dac can handle 24/192khz files.

Though saying that, the amp section might not be as high.

Edit yup, 110mw compared to 350mw on the D6, but the D12 is still plentiful for most cans, it all depends on which is more important to you.

I have the P4 and they are excellent for the money.
