Android OS 2.2

Creative have said that Android 2.2 will be available for the Zen Touch 2 at some point, has anyone heard any news on when we can expect it?

Not yet. They've updated their Ziio 7" tablet to 2.2. Just a matter of time I suspect.

Bumping this just to see if anyone knows about a 2.2 update yet. Creatives Site has a hint 2.2 will show up tomorrow. Guess we'll see if it is true.

Today (the 20th) they've changed their 2.2 date to the 25th. Looks like they underestimated how long tweaking their 2.2 Ziio firmware (now on the 10" and 7" tablets) for the smaller Touch-2s would take.

Today they changed the date to the 26th. Anyone want to bet tomorrow it'll be changed to the 27th?

I just updated my Zen Touch 2 to Android 2.2.

My initial impression of the new firmware is mostly favorable.

There are some good things - for example, you now have five segments for putting widgets on instead of three (as with 2.1-update1), and the wifi seems more reliable - but instead of swiping to open the main widget menu, you now have to tap on a button. That was a bit confusing for me.

I'll let you know more once I've mucked about with it for a day or so.
