Fuggetabout it!!!
There was just a port for the Apple, and this was most probably to keep above water with the iPod sales. IMO, the day when there is Linux software for the Zune is when hell freezes over.

Lolz never in a million years. Maybe some savvy Linux guy who wants to will hack it, but I've got no idea about if that's even possible, but MS will definitely not release something official.

To me it looks like it was just a byproduct of getting Windows Phone 7 support onto OS X, which is certainly the main focus of that sync app.

Same here. I strongly suspect that, if not for Windows Phone 7, there would still be no Zune support on a Mac.

Yes, I agree to this also. IMO This reinforces my idea that MS dropped the Zune like an orphan to focus on WIndows 7 phones, no matter how they try to sugarcoat it.

I'm going to go a step further, and say that it wouldn't have happened if that unofficial "hack" hadn't been discovered a month before they made support official.

Actually, for what it's worth... I was working on a plan to have someone else build a Mac sync client for Zune when the team that built the WP7 Connector for Mac approached me asking for some info on Zune as they planned to support it. We chatted, worked things out, and hey presto...
So it wasn't a hack, it wasn't an accident, it was firmly planned and was something I'd sought since before the Connector project. ![]() Cheers, Dave.

Oh, all I was referring to by "hack" was this:
http://anythingbutipod.com/2011/01/h...with-mac-os-x/ I just didn't know what to call it. ![]() Actually, this seems to me a good time to ask: are there any plans to release software with access to the same functionality that Zune software provides? i.e. Marketplace, Zune Pass, etc. |
