Yaa, D3... 32gb sound quality from everyone said it was super!! Better than the J3, SuperAMOled... and full 1080p HD quality, meaning NO MORE CONVERTING (except for the .MKVs)

Samsung Canada, like many other subsidiaries, doesn't sell mp3 players anymore so I highly doubt you'll see them there.

It would be very nice to have a new firmware but the phone/pmp merger really messed things up. My P3 is still great now and I tend to use It for films/tv over the vplayer app on my phone because It runs smoothly. But It has no mkv support which is a bummer.

but you forget that in korea, we can negotiate our prices. i found the samsung laptop i wanted on gmarket, printed it out, went to yongsan (the electronic/computer district of seoul) and the merchant gave sold me the exact same samsung laptop with same specifications for 200,000 won ($200) cheaper than the gmarket price because i was paying in cash. and my native friend had told that yongsan would be more expensive than gmarket. so i'm sure that i can get the same deal here on the galaxy player (sometimes you can just walk away to go to the store next door with the same product and they immediately yell out a lower price to get you to come back).

plus, the ipod touch is overpriced in korea thanks to steep korean import taxes, so samsung might be matching apple prices and letting people "negotiate for a better price", while the apple store price is non-negotiable. so the price might be cheaper once it gets to the states.

so here's the prices of the samsung galaxy player vs iphone here in korea for a better comparison of what the price might be in the states.

fyi, some of my native friends don't recommend buying on gmarket. it's like ebay, you sometimes get a good deal and you sometimes get ripped off, sold used goods, ect.

The Galaxy Player 4.0 was up on amazon.com for all of 2 seconds today. Looks like 229.00 for the 8 gig version. Think its a much better deal to get the 8 gig model instead of the 16 gig version and use the difference in price to get a 16 gig microSD card.

ok, thats a great preview review but may is almost over and no word yet on the release of the 4'' version. Who knows when it comes out? I'm almost going on holiday and was hoping to bring along a new music player.

QUESTION: if I place a 32Gb card in the device, are the songs from the card integrated in the complete list of songs and albums or do I have to select the external slot in order to see the songs from it.

The question you asked was already answered, so it's a yes w/the integration of the files on a micro SD card. As for a release date? Your guess is as good as ours, since I plan on getting the (changed my mind) Galaxy 4.0 myself.

Does anyone know if it's at all possible to pair either player (4.0 or 5.0) with your phone via bluetooth and then use the Galaxy player as your new phone (like the p2 and p3)? If so would it be possible to add SMS (texting) in the mix as well?
