Exclamation Will there be an Update 5.0?
I can't understand it and many others think the same:
Why don't we get an update? I am absolutly sure (99% ) that Microsoft knows what we want...
(srcoll to the 4.7 update requested thread)
Why can't Microsoft solve the problems? Why do they publish every month three! apps, but no update???
...

We want it!
We need it!
Microsoft please answer!

Hope to get some answers...

And hope I haven't made many gramatical mistakes

Well, I'm sorry but apparently it isn't going to happen. As Dave said, this device is 18 months old(what the hell was the Zune team doing for 11 months, that's more than enough time to make 2 updates.) Sorry. All I have been hearing was excuses about these updates because the HD is faaar from feature complete.

In fact, we need that faster app loading desperately on the Zune.

My assumption is that the majority of the zune team went to the windows phone 7 development team.

Anyone saying it will or it won't for sure is just spreading rumors. We don't know one way or the other. I'm personally choosing to hope for it to come.

Well, the last update was about a year ago. You don't even need to read between the lines, there is not going to be another update. Either get new hardware, or live with what you have.

I have to agree with the guy above. Who knows what they were doing for the past 11 months. It's not like it was spent supporting the Zune HD. I hold no hope whatsoever that they'll actually have a new firmware. Dave, for all of the posts he makes in a variety of threads (which is great), never posts in any firmware threads, so there's not really any question about it. It would be nice if he just said something to us about it, though.

Microsoft really should be ashamed, we paid all this money for a great device, and they gave us a great device at first. Then it was like, they just gave up on it, and said, "Well we did what we could!"

There is a total air of Walter Mitty about the whole Zune team thing.

Did they ever really exist at all?

Exactly. You don't know, I don't, that guy on engadget/bloomberg don't, nobody except people who work for ms and zune. And when people say they do, well its the internet and 80% of it is either bs or porn.

Well the last update (4.5) was released on April 5, 2010. So maybe 4.7 will be on April 7?

Wishful thinking but soon the Samsung Galaxy Player will be available here in the US and I will have no use left for my poor old Zune HD.

Oh well. It was my faithful companion everyday for the past 18+ months.

I can't understand why they didn't made one...
Is it soo difficult to show the clock when you are listening music?
Is it soo difficult to add a "Further" Button in the Browser?
Is it soo difficult to add Landscape View in one year?

I think they had many time!
