lol, if they released Windows 8 in a year or two....I'm not upgrading, Windows 7 is perfectly fine, and there's no way I'd be able to afford it....no matter how good it might be.

Bill Gates is going to step out on the stage and announce," The Zune works, there's no need to fix it." Then he'll casually walk off the stage, maybe throw Steve Jobs (who's in the audience) a liver or something.

That's the good thing about being a student... MS practically gave away my copy of 7 for like $60AUD or something around that...

I do think it is Zune related because Microsoft has been working on cloud based video/music service codenamed "Ventura". I think Microsoft is ready to reveal that this "Ventura" will be embedded in Zune and Zune will be expanded.

I don't think it is IE 9 announcement because that is scheduled and to be released for March 14 so it would be pointless to do two announcements on IE 9.

O RLY?! What makes him so bad? I believe he should be running Microsoft instead of Steve Ballmer. Ballmer makes the company late with ALMOST everything and just can't get to the market early like Apple. That's why I still wish Gates would come back. He led the company well. He even understood that Windows wasn't the right OS for tablets and he also understood that the tablet boom was coming. MS killed the Courier tablet which would have actually had a serious impact since it would come soon after the iPad and not after all the Android stuff.

MS has been going in the wrong direction but is starting to turn around. The turning around has slowed because they can't seem to get an update through the mobile carriers to a phone. I mean come on, they knew this was going to happen and they were SOOO generous with the carriers. Now everyone wants them to just skip the carriers and release the update. Who cares about them.

Anyways back on topic. /end rant

I know they don't care. I never said anything like that. I'm pointing out that Bill was a far better leader of Microsoft than Ballmer ever was and probably ever is going to be. The ultimate goal is money but if they don't make good stuff then no one will buy it. I'm sorry you throw up so easily but lets not get our feathers ruffled over a stupid topic like CEOs.

Good thing about being a Computer Science student at my university... I get a full Professional edition of Windows 7 free

And probably Windows 8 when it comes out, too. After all, we programmers have to test our apps on the latest and greatest
