If all they announce is IE9, then whoopdedoo-duh.

Now show me a new WiFi PMP, perhaps "Zune7", running Win Phone7 OS and apps, with every feature next year's iPod Touch will have only better by a leap year, and I'll invest in some Microsoft stock. Heck, I may even sign up for a Zune Pass.

But are these really major announcements??? Plus the IE 9 event is pretty much confirmed for March 14. There is no reason for two announcements for one product.

What I'm hoping for is the next generation of Zune that is merged with Xbox to finally bring the Xbox Portable. Xbox Portable with Zune and WP7 would be a major announcement.

I reckon they will be announcing;

IE9 release, with HTML5.....with UNIVERSAL WP7 and Desktop release dates. My money is on MS breaking the IE9 update for Windows Phone 7 out of the full Mango update, and delivering IE9 to both platforms at the same date.

This then allows MS to deal with the rest of the Mango update separately at a later time.

I've used it, but that was a while ago. I haven't used anything but Chrome for a while now, mostly because anytime I go back to FF or IE8 (which are the only other browsers on my machine ATM) I get too fed up with the speed...

It seems that Microsoft is hiring engineers for the next gen Xbox and is already working on it. However, it would be too early for Microsoft to announce a new Xbox unless they have completed it and it looks like they are not. But, an Xbox Portable is more likely.

Nice, but IE9 still has the speed, and the integration (pinned sites).

According to Mary-Jo Foley, Microsoft is working on a service code named "Ventura" which will be a music/video service.

I say it's the Kinect SDK they are announcing. I will expect to see a new device(If there is one)by April in MIX 2011(Look on the website). They said the SDK was coming in spring. They either finished early, or they are just announcing it and will be demonstrating.

That is the Firefox 4 beta, which is a really nice browser, way better than 3.6. Though I don't know what theme that is, it sure is nice, I wouldn't mind trying it myself. I still maintain that Opera 11 is the best there is, along with Opera Mini for my Android.

Engadget has just clarified what "Ventura" is and it is apparently a cloud based media service that could be merged with Zune. Engadget noted that in a job description on the "Ventura" project, Zune is in the title. So the major announcement could be a cloud based addition to the Zune service although Zune sort of already accomplish this.

I think it's too early for them to announce a new OS, and I don't as of yet have a reason to doubt what others are saying about IE9 having an announcement planned for the day before...
