Default Microsoft's Major Announcement on March 15
Microsoft's PR has just sent out a message that there will be a major announcement on March 15.

At this time no one knows what it is going to be or what it will concern to. Microsoft has no known new upcoming products with the exception of IE 9 which will be released this month; however, that isn't really a major announcement.

The only thing IMO that would be major announcement are Windows 8 which is too far away IMO, Microsoft tablet , new WP7 phones or a new Zune or the death of the Zune brand.

It is time for a new Zune for sure. We won't know what it's all about until the 15th though. Thanks for the tip though.

The thing is the way Microsoft treats the Zune brand, I don't see them seeing a new Zune as a major announcement.

They just released Zune in Canada. So now they are going to announce a new one for the U.S., meaning Canada won't get the new one for another year or more? Seems unlikely. In all likelihood, this will be all about IE9.

Lol.....I don't care one bit if its a new Zune, tablet (well, I might care some if its that ), or Windows Phone.

The only thing that would get me excited is something that has to do with Windows (not WindowsPhone, something like IE9 etc.)....

This may have more to do with the deal between MSFT and Nokia, as I see it, MSFT stands to win a good percentage of global smarphone market share from their huge investment …

Although I find it hard to believe that this will be a new zune as speculated here and I believe this thread is possibly posted into the wrong forum but I’m glad to see that Strider_Aus closed the second thread to keep the discussion in one thread. Keep the ideas coming and when we find out a mod can either move the original thread or a member can start a new thread in the appropriate forum …

Meh. I've moved onto bigger and better things than IE. And none of the other stuff matters to me. So I have no preference, though I suppose the announcement of a new Zune could mean good things for the future of the Zune brand ATM.

It's worth noting that major announcements of WP7 and Windows were already made this year so unless new products are about to released, Microsoft wouldn't make new announcements about them. The IE 9 announcement is set for the 14 so that is a different event. The brand that Microsoft hasn't talk about in awhile is actually Zune.

I definitely don't use IE as my main browser....in fact it was just a backup sitting there on my system until version 9 showed up (I didn't like anything from version 6-8). That's when everything changed for me, I now use it exclusively as my secondary browser....although still have FF as my main browser of choice .

There's many things the new IE9 has that FF doesn't and can't have with addons....such as hardware acceleration, and a minimalist chrome-like interface that's quite nice....

More folks need to use Opera for their browser. Such an underrated browser, but it is the best there is.

I like FF. I used chrome for a while and that worked great to. I don't like IE for whatever reason. I really don't think there's much difference though. . .

Every time I read IE 9 I think Sennheiser (I read there's going to be an IE 9) heh.
