when i first tried it, i noticed that the usb cable connecter did not fully insert into the cowon j3, and that some of the metal part was still showing. The cable still works, and the computer recognizes the J3, but if i move it alittle the cable easily disconnects. anybody else have this problem? or is it normal?

I thought I had an issue too when I first got it, but I just had to push it a little bit harder into the tight opening in the J3. The port then slightly yields (translated). I don't suggest that you use violence, just try keep pushing the cable a little harder until it's all inside. When the cable is fully inserted you should still be able to see a tiny bit of the metal but shouldn't be very as easy to move/remove again as you mention above.

This has just happened to me too. I didn't realise I had to push it in THAT hard. Thanks for the post and the great reply.
