Default S9 not charging.

Hey guys,

I've had my S9 for about 20 months now. I recently used it on a long car trip and the battery was completely drained. I then got home, plugged it into the same computer where it has always been plugged into, and... nothing. I tried switching from my normal Linux partition to the Windows dual-boot I have, and still no dice. Finally, I tried my friend's laptop, but it still did not charge. Running lsusb in Linux shows that the kernel is not recognizing the device. I don't know whether the device or the cable is broken. If I slide the switch on the device to turn it on, nothing happens.

Please help!

Thanks in advance.

I have the exact same problem! It still works as a disk when connected to a computer, but I think the battery is drained and it won't charge.

When the battery has been completely drained for some time, just let it plugged into USB for a day or three. Usually it recovers on its own from a slight deep-discharge.

Could try using a wall wart USB charger as well, sometimes those are higher amps, which should charge it a little quicker.

Tried having it connected to the computer for a couple of days, didn't work. Tired the same with a wall charger. What should I do?

Nope read over it maybe you have a bricked player.

Send it back to Cowon if possible. By now though I think the warranty is null.

You might have to pay a bit.
