Hi, my 16Gb Cowon S9 is reading as only having 4Gb of free space, though I only have 5Gb of Music on it. I not great with this type of stuff so I was wondering if someone could give me instructions on how to format the device?

connect player to PC in MSC mode, right click on you player in My Computer (or windows explorer) and choose format, FAT 32. Let it do it's thing and do a safe disconnect and let it rebuild db. It will erase all the data on you player, reconnect after and reload tunes.

Don't ever format your player with Windows, it messes things up and makes the player slower - always use this tool: http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/
