that doesn't mean anything. the dialog could be disabled. (it's a quick start wizard for stuff you can do with the device you just plugged in)

connect the player

go to "my computer" (hope that's how it's called in the english version of Win)

go to "Cowon J3" (there's also a letter, like G: for example that's the drive name)

then go to folder "System"

edit: ninja'd by rohit.
and then you have the param.cfg

wow...wait. be sure that you have your Cowon S9 in MSC mode.

turn on the S9 and go to settings/system/USB mode and then look whether you have MSC enabled.

man, i'm sooo slow today... you already pointed that out rohit.

I think he gave up.
@Deadohiosky: What you recommending was already communicated an hour ago.

i know, i know.

already noticed that myself.

i was just brainstorming myself and totally forget that you already told him to change it.

kizune is probably right... the .cfg files are connected to outlook for reasons unknown and the file extensions are hidden by default.
advanced users will change that right after installation of windows.(well, i can only speak for myself, though)

I don't think hoggie gave up, he's just offline at the moment.^^

When I installed Office 2003 on my computer, it assigned cfg files to Outlook. That's why I'm sure the file he mentioned is the param.cfg file.

BINGO it worked a treat I was afraid to delete these earlier as I thought they were belonging to outlook.Volume levels are where they should be now. Thanks to everybody's contribution especially rohit for persisting with my limited knowledge. It has made my day my AKG702's sound great with the s9.Thanks.I bet the same beaurocrats in the european union that dreamed up the noise regulation were the same idiots that wanted straight banana's some years back!!
