Lightbulb Build your own MP3 Player

If like many, you are looking for a MP3 player that gets a way from all the new fangled technology developments like apps and screens that you can stroke and play with. Well look no further, than the link below, as you can build your own MP3 player from a kit. This allows you to customise your MP3 player to your desired needs. Maybe you might want to start a business and take on Apple at their own game.

http://www.velleman.eu/distributor/p...iew/?id=380100

Stats:

SD card operation up to a smooth 32GB
high-quality VLSI decoder
5 Preset folder access buttons
play-pause, next, previous, search
volume control
random and shuffle
8 different preset sound modes, that's 7 more then what you actually need!
6 play modes: All, Folder, At power-on...
infrared receiver, forget about Bluetooth that's old technology
on-board power amplifier
RCA pre out
headphone and speaker outputs are always good idea
mono operation is possible
vertical or horizontal SD card position possible
suits commercially available LCD types

Nice

Ryan

Hmm, wonder if this will be any use to Yuki and anyone else involved with the nascent Project ABi player.

No, that's not useful at all for that project. It's just a hobbyist toy based on rather outdated hardware. It also only runs from mains, not battery, as far as I can see.

Yeah it wasn't meant to be too serious hence why i didn't put it in the news section. But it's meant more for a Hi-Fi so that you can just insert your SD Card and play music through your home made Hi-fi. I thought it was pretty cool at least.

I guess it's interesting for an electronic hobbyist but the dimensions are rather large compared to the slim small players available (130 x 99mm / 5.11 x 3.9). Also I wouldn't expect great sq ...

Ah, I see. So...

Something like this could probably be more than a match for that HF-Man...

Sure, I didn't mean to come off condescending. Was just replying to Lestatar that this DIY kit isn't useful for developing a new portable player that might run Rockbox some day.
