I lived in JA for 5 years and IMO Bob Marley would be rolling in his grave at the BS that they've done with his home, gear and grave site ... and now this, Rohan Marley endorses Bob Marley headphones at CES 2011 for the launch of the Bob Marley phones, what a sick joke

The 50 Cent cans at least seem to be developed by a rather reputable company, Sleek, but those Marley phones are most likely just generic Chinese OEM phones, *very* similar housings to Skullcandy and WESC: http://www.thehouseofmarley.com/goods/headphones

And the message about "love the planet" seems a bit thin... maybe the woods they ship to China are FSC approved, but who knows in what factories the phones are made? All those "Freedom, Revolution, Destiny, yadda, yadda" phrases are a bit of a heavy marketing tactic as well - even if some of the revenue goes into charity, which of course is laudable. But maybe that's just me.

The $99 range of IEMs indeed does look rather nice and subtle, and also the somewhat willy-nilly named (black) "Sun is Shining" ones that Machiventa likes.

I actually kinda like the looks of the Lion, the black and wood IEMs with the flattish knurled outer housings.

Surprised to not see this obvious marketing ploy - include a special, exclusive Bob Marley CD/download with every can/IEM purchase.

They could dig up some unreleased tracks and push the product that way.

People are suckers for the word "exclusive"...
