I see the "Beatz", and the rest of the trash and now "Sleeks" as a handy public information service, not dissimilar to a large neon arrows which float around in order to point out who the idiots are in a crowd.

Actually, I am no hiphop fan, but yes, I have heard some people on the ground in NYC bemoaning Jay-Z "selling out".

I on the other hand have no issue with this - in fact, I applaud it.

And Beyonce? Nice, but not really my ideal cup of tea...

Is it possible that those kind of headphones really sell well? I find it really weird... who would want to spend a lot of cash for having "50 cent" headphones? Maybe I'm being naive lol

Maybe young kids/teenagers just like to wear things endorsed by their "heroes". I know I was certainly very similar when I was <15.

In fact, what initially got my attention about the Aiaiai TMA-1s was that they were endorsed/tested by some of my favourite producers and DJs (Michael Mayer, Superpitcher, Matthew Dear etc.).

Are all these branded headphones really that bad? They must be better than the standard white iPod earbuds, so surely some improvement is better than none.
