Maybe I'm just getting old, don't understand all these marketing stunts anymore... ah, no - I guess you just have to be a special kind of person to fall for all that Dre/Gaga/Justin Bieber/Quincy Jones/Miles Davis/Daft Punk/Capitol Records/etc endorsement crap. But yeah, a Fiddy Cent branded fart cannon might be hitting a new low. The carbon fiber finish doesn't really help much either.

I have IEMs that say Capitol Records on them and I love them. Marketing is marketing. This market is so over-congested that the vendors are just trying to differentiate themselves because most people are morons, plus you can't really try most before you buy.

I have to say, I find it really offensive that you compared me to those crappy headphones. I have two quarters in my pocket and ate chorizo for breakfast.

I find it offensive that Jerry Harvey sold UE to Logitech, and that they have to use such low tricks now, as if their usual (valid) celeb endorsement wouldn't be enough. But yeah, UE simply isn't UE anymore... however, I don't doubt the new UE10, or "Capitol", sound just fine.

Sleek at least claims the carbon fiber is real. FOTM or not I still swear by my SA6. I prefer them over the Panas HJE, Triple Fi 10 and SE530. I really dont like the look of the fiddy cent model though. Never been a fan of the carbon fiber though.

That's what makes it so weird (never mind my snarky comment above ) - the SA6 are linear, analytic, monitoring IEMs like Etymotic or Phonak - how did they end up striking a deal with Fiddy, and what does it tell their current clientele about their intentions? I'm pretty sure they make more money with those celeb-branded cans, of course.
