Hi all,
Does anyone have an Archos 70IT and wants to share pros and cons? Thanks, BramDB

70 pros:
Capacitive screen. 2 Finger multitouch. 1gHz processor. 3D gaming capable. Easily hackable for Google apps and android market. Under a pound. Good battery life. Bluetooth Speakers Microphone Kickstand HDMI output Cons: No 3G data connection you have to pay monthy for. Also a Pro. Only two-finger multitouch. No GPS bullt in. No Archos dock port. Hard to find a case for. |

I think I can live with the cons. And I've read about the market hack, do most of the apps of the market work well? I've read the market isn't installed, because most of the apps won't work on the 70IT.

The only apps I've found that don't work also don't show up on the Market. Those are mainly ones requiring a Phone data connection or GPS or Compass. Pair a bluetooth GPS module to your 70 and GPS is no longer a problem. No compass apps seem to work either, but level apps do.

Thanks
I'm glad to hear that. I was looking for a cheap version of the Galaxy Tab and I think I've found one.

Half the price of a galaxy tab with similar performance. Viewing angles on the screen is horrible. That the only thing I don't like about it. Maybe should have put a nicer screen in it and charged us $50 more.

Ohw, that's a drawback... I'm gonna wait to buy it. The CES started yesterday. Many tablets will be released, the quality is still getting better and the price is falling.

Viewing angles on my 70 aren't "horrible". I can see the screen fine with no discoloration up to 80 degrees off-axis to the left, right, and above. Down I get to about 45 degrees before the screen darkens a bit. Very acceptible.
