Default After years of sticking with IEM's....

I've turned back to over the ear headphones, for home use of course.I bought the Sony MDR V150s,which I use with my PSP+DS and a pair of Sony MDR XD200's which I use for music+movie watching.I like the XD200's better than the V150's because they are more comfy and don't make my ears red and hot like the V150's do.The XD200's feel like I'm wearing jet turbines on my head because they are so huge but I love them.

What did you pay for them?

The XD200's cost me $26 from Amazon.com while the V150's cost me $27 from BestBuy,I knew I could get the V150's cheaper online but I needed headphones and I didn't want to wait.

I regularly see the MDR-V150's for less than the MDR-XD200 on line like you say, even on amazon now for $13.07 http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V150-...ata/B00005QBU9 also the XD200's are priced good there too. Can't say I've ever tried either, how's the quality and which one do you like best?

Edit: when I first looked at that link ^^ the price was what I stated above, when I looked again 15 min later the price increased

MDR-V150 = muddy and too much mid-bass (IMO). And if you have a large head, eventually the plastic headband will start to crack.

I prefer the XD200's over the V150's because of their comfy fit,I can keep them on my head for hours and my ears never get red or irritated. For music listening,I like the XD200's better.I listen to a very wide selection of genres of music and they do quite well. For use with anything than a computer,a headphone amp would really be needed to fully take advantage of what the XD200's have to offer.

The xd200 don't have much to offer IMO. I gave them away to someone who didnt care about sound.

I've only tried a few Sony headphones but I didn't like the V150's because they hurt after a little while. On the other hand the V700DJ's sound awesome and didn't hurt at all but they're obviously a DJ phone. Still can't remember the other model number I owned but they were just as good as the 700's but hurt a bit after prolonged listening. I'd love to try the XD200's though.

I think with a $26 price tag those XD200's are good. I mean they are kinda unique, and you wont easily find headphones that comfy at that price.
