Default Creative Ziio 16GB Available on Amazon

Anybody buying? I'm really dying to know how this thing is.

2.4 lbs? It may have a lead-acid battery inside! Me thinks Amazon has their facts wrong.

The archos 70 is listed at 11 or 14 ounces, depending on the storage choice.
A check of Creative's site says 14 ounces.

Android on the Ziio i 2.1. The archos 70it now has 2.21.
The screen on the Ziio is resistive. The 70it has a capacitive screen.

I recommend the Archos 70. On posted specs alone.

Yes, but if I have read correctly, none of the Archos tablets go beyond 8GB of storage for music. Please correct me if I am in fact wrong though, I may take another look as I require at the very least 16GB.

The Archos ones do have a MicroSDHC slot, though (same as the Ziio, I assume).

I'll go w/an Archos 70 or a Nook Color before this. The resistive screen is a no-no for me, especially since Creative has such a shoddy track record for reliability. I was contemplating getting the ZiiO 7, but I think it's something to pass over.

How does Archos generally fare with SQ? I can't imagine stock SQ being any better or worse than anything else, but I have never tried an Archos mp3 player before.

Clearly I haven't looked closely enoughj at the Archos tablets, as that 16gb 43 model looks like an excellent alternative to a 7 inch tablet, which I am weary about ever being able to justify owning. I didn't realize they had a 4 inch PMP, I thought it was just 7 and 10 inch tablets. I have no experience with Archos, I guess I never paid much attention before, but now I am looking hard. Either the SQ of the J3 or the wifi capabilities of the 43... Hmmmmm

I've got an Archos 28 and I think it sounds pretty good. You could also download some pretty good music apps off of Android market like PowerAmp or Mixzing or you could also tryout Rockbox's Android app which is still being developed.

After the full sized SD card slot on the Cruz Reader, I can't get all that excited about a Micro SD slot on a 7 inch device. The same goes for the $250 pricetag, resistive touch and white plastic surround. I might not like the Cruz Reader, but I fell in love with the 4:3 form factor and $99 price tag.
