Default Zune HD vs Cowon J3

Ok my zune HD is giving me some issues and and I'm a secret nerd and need a new gadget for some unknown reason. So im wondering if a Cowon J3 is good enough to warrant buying one if I already own a ZHD.

Yeah I could kind of see that coming. I was just looking for some reasons to reinforce me wanting one.

Well, it will play a lot more audio formats than your Zune.....it has a customizable EQ and other sound tweaks....much better battery life.....a microsdhc slot......it doesn't need a specific software program to use.....

Being a ZuneHD owner myself, I can say that the Cowon J3 is a much better music/video player than the ZuneHD, and I can even say that from not actually trying one out myself, only reading an awesome online review of the player, its maybe the best music player on the market now.

I have both and gave the zume to my apple headed son
I want a portable easy to use device so I wanted extenal Buttons to to adjust the volume and songs.
If you have a zume you arleady know it has none so its a pain to change things while in my coat pocket. So take that to mind when you make your selection.

i mostly concur with the above said, but most inform you that the J3 is a pmp only. no fancy apps no internet browsing no wifi, just a plain pmp with superior sound/equalizer quality and much superior battery life.

if you don't care about downgrading from a mobile internet device with media capability to a media player "only" you sure are in good hands with the J3. otherwise i would suggest staying with the Zune HD, buying an ipod touch or looking out for the archos 43 which bears more similarities with the Zune than the J3.

I predict that in 2011 we will see players with a micro SDXC card slot, and we will see additional players with HD radio. Perhaps we might even see some good players under $100 with HD radio.

Yeah, you'd need an iPod or an Android device for that... if only Microsoft made something comparable.

Amen to that...

The HD has internet web browsing, but I find it useless for some reason. My android device (the lowly Eris) has browsing capabilities that are much better than the HD's.

I own both the J3 and the HD, and for my habits the J3 is far superior. Way better SQ because of the expansive equalizer, which is just amazing. BBE+ is a lovely enhancement. Video playback is really top notch also.

For a PMP only, the J3 is awesome.

Cheers.....
