Skullcandy and Aerial7 aren't headphones, but overpriced kiddie fashion accessories with questionable sound and build quality. The AKG is the only decent reputable phone among those. It's not a bad phone either, definitely worth the money.
Other good choices for closed headphones from that store, in your price range: http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/sennheiser-hd-205.html http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/beyerdy...dt231-pro.html http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/shure-srh240.html http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/audio-t...-ath-t500.html http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/sennheiser-hd-215.html

Hah, riiight... I had the faint feeling something was off there, since I remembered they were over EUR 120 in the store I tried them (the A500).

They are a well reviewed set of portable cans, of all the options thus far in this thread i would choose them.

Hi.
New to this forum, lurker for years. I just bought the AKG 518DJ for my brother and I can tell you that they are great cans for the money. Not the most refined sound but suprisingly balanced if you remove the innerpads. Only minus is that they clamp your head with great force and they become uncomfortable to wear after an hour or so. Isolation is good. |

It's the same phone, the LE ("Limited Edition") is just the one with the different colors to choose from.

Different colours to choose from (LE) and a shorter cable compared to the DJ version. I find that shorter is better for portable use. Enjoy.
